• The Annual General Meeting of members is scheduled for Saturday February 13th, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Shri Ram Mandiir. There will be no elections as there was at most one nomination for each open position.
  
• From February 1st, we have started Shrimad Bhagwad Paath presented by pundit Vasudevji, Sun-Thu from 7:00-7:30pm, and Fri-Sat from 6:30-7:30pm. The regular Tulsidas Ramayan paath is Sun-Thu 6:30-7:00pm.
  
• There will be a regular event every Sunday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The first Sunderkaand will be on Saturday February 6th (instead of Sunday the 7th due a wedding in the mandir), and Hawan/Pooja on Sunday February 14th. The Sunderkaand and the Hawan/pooja will continue on alternating Sundays.
  
• Maha Shivratri celebration and Mata ki CHowki are being held on Friday February 12th. The mandir will open at 8:00am and stay open all day for devotees to offer prayers to Shivji and Parvati and offer mild/honey/etc. to Shivalingam. See details below.

 

Maha Shiv Ratri February 12th (Friday), 5:00-7:30pm       Mahashivaratri Festival is celebrated with devotion and religious fervor on the moonless 14th night of the new moon in the Hindu month of Phalgun. Ritual bath of Shiva Lingam with milk, water, honey etc is also performed by the devotees as a part of the tradition. Many believe that Shivaratri Festival marks the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati. According to some legends, it was on the auspicious night of Shivaratri that Lord Shiva performed the 'Tandava', the dance of the primal creation, preservation and destruction.     Please join us in Maha Shiv Ratri celebration on February 12th: 08:00am: Mandir opens and will remain open all for devotees to offer milk/honey/etc. to shivling 10:00am - 11:30am: Rudrabhiskek and Shiv Pooja (first batch**) 05:00pm - 06:00pm: Rudrabhishek and Shiv Pooja (second batch**) 06:00pm - 06:30pm: Shiv Bhajans 06:30pm - 07:30pm: Rudrabhishek and Shiv Pooja (third batch) (**Yajmans wil be given thali with shivling, diya, roli, chandan, pan leaves, flower, etc. and priest will perform the pooja) Samuhik Yajman sponsorship: $51, Grand sponsorship: $101
